Barbara Pieczonka

Owner

My name is Barbara Pieczonka, I live and work in Italy, in Anzio – a picturesque, renowned seaside resort near Rome.

It is here, surrounded by friendly, wonderful people and the blue Tyrrhenian Sea, that I run my own business (B2B) providing language training for companies (language, business etiquette, cultural differences in business), as well as Italian and Polish language classes for individuals and small groups.

Lessons are conducted online (Teams, Zoom), at various levels.

I also provide translation services. I specialize in translating fiction, children's literature, and creative advertising translation (transcreation).

I derive the greatest joy from communing with nature, exploring it, creating, and traveling. I practice  physique sports and enjoy participating in dog shows, specializing in exhibiting  bichon havanais, minature and royal poodles.

I'm interested in nutriepigenetics and quantum biology.

I completed a course in the fundamentals of mindfulness, neuroscience, and the biology of belief at the Institute of Applied Quantum Biology in Florence.

In life, only what you love is truly realized, which is why I decided to teach.

I love guiding my students through the magical, fantastic journey of learning a foreign language, being a source of inspiration and motivation for them, and observing the process of change that takes place during our shared adventure.

Learning a foreign language is also a way to discover one's self.

The satisfaction of my students' progress and their gratitude are the most valuable rewards for me.

My dream is to translate Maria Konopnicka's fairy tale "O sierotce Marysi i krasnoludkach" (Little Orphan Mary and the Dwarfs).

                          Qualifications

I graduated from the Sapienza University of Rome with a degree in European Studies, Intercultural Studies, and Translation Studies (Polish, Italian, German, and Czech), where my master's thesis focused on "Translating Brzechwa's and Tuwim's Children's Poetry into Polish."

My bachelor's degree at the Sapienza University of Rome prepared me to work as a language mediator, to deepened my knowledge of international law and to specialize in transcreation for marketing purposes.

I defended my thesis on the profound meaning of life conveyed by the Italian war envoy Tiziano Terzani, in both German and Italian.

From 2008 I am registered in the register of Linguistic and Intercultural Translators and Mediators at theDepartment of Social Policy of the City of Rome, under number 1058.

I am qualified to work as a sworn translator of Italian (Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Department of Translation Studies and Cultural Studies).

I acquired the qualifications necessary to teach Polish culture and Polish as a foreign language during my second-cycle postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice.

                    What are the lessons like?

My lessons are characterized by a motivating, warm, and supportive atmosphere with teaching methods tailored to the individual's needs.

I have extensive experience and methodological solutions that allow me to integrate language skills with cultural content (art, film, interesting facts from everyday life, differences in how we perceive the world). Therefore, I strive to ensure that my students not only use the language as a communication tool but also understand the nuances of Polish and Italian behavior and social phenomena.

I have successfully taught Polish and Italian as a foreign language to people from the most remote corners of the world: Australia, the United States, Sri Lanka, England, the Netherlands, Italy, Ukraine, Germany, France, Cambodia, and my beloved Poland!

My students also include academic teachers of other foreign languages.

Every New Language you speak, you live a New Life.

 Join me.
